It's post Christmas and we're a couple of days into the New Year, but i wanted to pause to belatedly wish everyone best of tidings and good wishes for 2016. There appear to be more friends around than usual, more smiles on faces, and an overall sense of expectancy as to what this next year will bring.
I personally have the next five days off and i can't think of a better reprieve from a harried Christmas in retail..
That being said, i am thankful for all that i have been given this last year. Great times with my family, partner, and wonderful friends. The opportunity to learn from tutors and lecturers in my field at uni who've supported and cared and soothed me when i've had doubts that high school teaching is for me. The leisure time i spent learning to sew; the long walks; the copious coffees with my roommate; the daydreaming, and the playing 'house' with Danny. The ability to work and save in a cosy close-knit environment. The camping trips i went on, and the things i was able to plan (my walking trip in Italy with mum and Aunty Laurel in late June 2016!).
Needless to say, i am a very lucky person.
I hope this much luck and more is bestowed to you this year.
